Enriching Local Communities

Illawarra Credit Union is committed to supporting our local communities. In addition to assisting our members reach their financial goals, we also support a range of local charities, sporting associations, community groups and events.

Sponsorships

Illawarra Credit Union is a major supporter of Illawarra Hockey. The credit unions sponsorship assists in maintaining and developing the local Hockey and Sports Complex at Unanderra. This provides facilities and grounds for more than 1500 registered Illawarra Hockey players.

	Long term sponsorship from the Illawarra Credit Union has assisted Illawarra Rugby in keeping costs down for players, making the sport accessible to more people.
	The credit union is a proud sponsor of football throughout the south coast. As part of our relationship with Football South Coast we support the South Coast Wolves, Illawarra Junior Association, Illawarra Football Association and most recently the Illawarra Stingrays.
	The Kembla Joggers are one of Australia’s premier running clubs. The credit union has been able to assist through sponsorship of the annual Fitness 5 Fun Run and in assisting with funding for the Kembla Joggers new state of the art clubhouse in West Dapto.
	Illawarra Credit Union is now the major sponsor of the Illawarra Triathlon Club. The club provides opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities to participate in Triathlon in a fun and friendly environment.
	Illawarra Credit Union provides financial assistance to Illawarra Surf Life Saving. This support contributes towards purchasing vital life saving equipment which Life Savers use to keep our local Illawarra beaches safe.

Events

	The annual Australia Day Illawarra Aquathon provides an opportunity for participants from all walks of like to enjoy a fun ‘splash and dash’ in the picturesque Wollongong Harbour. Illawarra Credit Union is proud to be a platinum partner and assist in continuing this unique local event.
	Illawarra Credit Union has a long running association with the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod. The Credit Unions support help to continue this fantastic event which was first established in 1894.

Community

The Credit Union continues to support the Illawarra Credit Union Careers Expo. Each year the expo provides an opportunity for high school students from around the region to come face to face with potential employers and discover more information about possible future study options.

Illawarra Credit Union contributes financial support to Symbio Wildlife Park which aides in the development of the park and various conservation initiatives. The Credit Unions generous support contributed to the construction of the exhibit to house two endangered Red Pandas at the Park and also the new Tiger enclosure.

Charities

	Illawarra Credit Union seeks to support the Salvation Army wherever possible. In particular, staff, family, friends and members of the Credit Union come together each year to collect gifts for children as part of the Salvos Christmas Appeal.
	Each year the Credit Union generously supports Legacy Australia and presents the annual Legacy week luncheon in Wollongong. Legacy’s services assist over 100,000 widows and 1900 children and dependants with a disability.
