Choosing a digital card makes managing your money easier than ever. You can use it in exactly the same way as your existing plastic card, either in person or online. Or, you can control how and where you use your digital card – such as for online payments only, domestic or international purchases and in-store transactions. You can also update your PIN and view your transaction history using the Moneytree app.
If you’re ordering a new digital card for the first time, here’s how
- First, check you have the latest version of the Moneytree app. If you don’t, you can download here.
- Call our customer team on 1300 132 249 9am – 5pm AEST Monday to Friday to request your new digital card. It will appear in your Moneytree app almost immediately, activated and ready to use.
- To view your new card details, simply tap on the ‘$’ symbol in the pink circle above the card image. The card image will turn around to display your new card number, expiry date and CVC.
- Start using your card by adding it to the digital wallet on your smartphone and/or wearables, or use the new card details to update your regular payments, digital subscriptions and anywhere your current card details are stored.
- Look out for your new plastic card in the post. It will also arrive already activated.
The Moneytree app allows you to stay in control by setting exactly how you want to use your digital and/or plastic card. It’s easy to do.
- Simply login to the Moneytree app and choose the ‘cards’ option at the bottom of the screen.
- Your card will be displayed on the screen. If you have more than one card, simply swipe right until you find the card you want to set controls for.
- Scroll down to set your preferences for the following transaction types:
- Online purchases – you can limit the use of the card for both local and international online purchases.
- Digital wallet – this will limit the use of the card when you make a payment using your digital wallet or wearable e.g. ‘Tap & Go’ purchases. Again you can limit both local and international transactions.
- ATM withdrawals – this only applies to your plastic card
- In-store physical card purchases – again, this only applies for your plastic card.
Need to place a block on your digital card? Simply toggle the bottom to ‘OFF’. You can remove and reinstate a card block at any time via the Moneytree app.
Digital Card FAQs
It’s a digital version of your debit or credit card, available in the Moneytree app. Use it just like your physical card to shop online, pay bills, make in-app purchases, set up your recurring card payments, and add it to your digital wallet on your smartphone or wearable to shop in-store.

- Call our customer team on 1300 132 249 9am-5pm AEST Monday to Friday to request a new digital card. Almost immediately, your digital card will appear in the Moneytree app. It’s already activated.

- Start using your card or update your card details in your digital wallet or wearable, recurring payments and any digital subscriptions. There’s no need to activate your card.
- Look out for your plastic replacement card in the post. It will also arrive already activated.
Yes, we will still send you a plastic card with the same card number, expiry date and CVC as your digital card. Having a digital card issued to you immediately on request, means that in the event of your card being lost or stolen you don’t need to disrupt your card usage while you wait for the plastic card to arrive. When it does arrive, it is already activated and ready to go. You will need to reset your PIN which you can do at any time in the Moneytree app.
When we issue you a digital card, the card number, expiry date and CVC will change. The new plastic card we send to you will have the same card details as your digital card.
You can use the digital card the same way you use your plastic card – online and in store via your digital wallet or wearable, or use it for your digital subscriptions and/or recurring and regular payments. It’s also gives you access to your card when you don’t have your plastic card at hand.

Yes, you can use the digital card in the same way as your plastic card.
You can add your new digital card to your digital wallet or wearable via the link in the Moneytree app.
After downloading the latest version of the Moneytree app and calling us to request a new digital card, the digital card will be visible in the Moneytree app. Simply tap on “cards” and swipe right to bring up the new card. To view your card number, expiry date and CVC simply tap on the card with a dollar sign symbol above the card image. The card image will spin around and present your card details.

Immediately. When you request a digital card for the first time, or you need to replace it, the replacement digital card will appear almost immediately.
The advantage of having a digital card is that if your plastic card was damaged, you can continue to use your digital card. For added security, you could also place controls on instore plastic (physical) card purchases by logging into the Moneytree app, tapping “cards” and scrolling down to the bottom of the page and switch the controls to “off”.
If you prefer to have new card number, expiry date and CVC, please replace your digital card as a lost/stolen replacement following the instruction above in the Moneytree app.
For damaged credit cards, please call our team on 1300 132 249 9am-5pm.
If you already have a digital card and need to replace/update it for whatever reason e.g. if you have recently had a fraudulent transaction, or your details have been accessed, you can simply log in to the Moneytree app and request a replacement card. Here’s how:
- Login to Moneytree app and tap cards
- Tap “Get help with your card” and select either “card been stolen” or “lost your card”
- Click “Yes” to proceed, this will trigger your current digital (and associated plastic card) to be blocked (including in your digital wallet).
- The new replacement card will be issued almost immediately. If you have the card plastic, your current card will be blocked, and you will receive the new plastic card about a week or so later via mail.
- Don’t forget to add your new digital card to your wallet and make it the preferred card to use in your wallet.

The digital card is only available in the Moneytree app. To use the Moneytree app, you need to be set up for internet banking. To register, please call our team on 1300 132 249 9am – 5pm AEST Monday – Friday or visit our Young St branch open between 9.30am-5pm Monday to Friday.
If you have internet banking already, you can download the Moneytree app and log in using your internet banking login details.
For security reasons, a new card means a new PIN, so you’ll no longer be able to use your current PIN number. You can set a new PIN in the Moneytree app or via internet banking.

Important notes
The Digital Card is only available in the Moneytree app and supported with the latest version. The Terms and Conditions applicable to your product also apply to the use of your digital card. You may not always be able to access your digital card.
