Illawarra Credit Union is delighted to announce the appointment of Anthony Perkiss as the customer-owned banking organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Anthony has been a key member of Illawarra Credit Union’s executive team since 2012 and has taken up the role of CEO, effective from 1 May 2019, taking over from Bob Kotic. Over the past seven years, Bob had led the organisation through an essential transformation, significantly enhancing Illawarra Credit Union’s digital capability, with Anthony playing a key role as Deputy CEO.
Announcing Anthony’s appointment, Illawarra Credit Union Chairman Roger Downs said: “Anthony is an exceptional leader. The Board is pleased to appoint a new CEO with such strong community, member and people-oriented values. We enthusiastically welcome Anthony to the position.
“As a well-respected and talented business leader, with over 25 years experience in the finance industry, Anthony shares the values underpinning Illawarra Credit Union and its role as a customer-owned financial institution. The Board has been impressed by Anthony’s resolute focus on the core elements of our mission, namely our members, our people, and our community.” Mr Downs added.
Anthony has worked across retail banking, wealth management, superannuation, and investment banking both in Australia and the United Kingdom. As an Illawarra local, Anthony is passionate about his community, and sporting organisations. His dedication to education, both of his staff and the local community, can be contributed to his own personal experiences.
Reflecting on his appointment, Anthony said: “I’m honoured to have the opportunity to lead the Credit union into it’s next phase.
“As a Customer-Owned bank it’s imperative that we continue to invest in our people to ensure we deliver the best solutions to our members.”
“We will also continue to invest in technology to simplify the business, provide online services to members across the country, to ensure we can deliver products and services that our members expect.” Mr Perkiss added.
